RECOVERY REFRAMED is produced by ATHENS PHOTO PROJEct

Athens Photo Project’s peer-driven commercial photography team is leading Recovery Reframed, a multi-county stigma reduction campaign. Our Recovery Reframed team  is working with individuals in recovery from addiction, Recovery Community Organizations, and other community partners. We  hold portrait and writing workshops that allow participants to reflect on their own recovery journey. We are creating these portraits and sharing these stories in an effort to reduce public stigma around addiction recovery, and to foster hope through increased awareness of recovery journeys.

ATHENS PHOTO PROJECT

We are a community of artists dedicated to using photography as a tool for self-expression, personal growth, and social change within the mental health recovery journey. Working in Appalachian Ohio for more than 20 years, we explore the boundaries of photography and mental health while reaching diverse audiences with our images.
